Tired floors, sanded back to beautiful timber.
Floor sanding, polishing, installation and repairs across Sydney. A family business from Western Sydney, on the tools since 2017.
From a quick refresh to a whole new floor.
Sanding and polishing is most of what we do, but we also lay new floors, fix damaged boards and bring stairs and decks back to life.
Floor sanding & polishing
Worn, grey or scratched boards sanded back to clean timber and sealed with a fresh coat.
Solid timber installation
Australian hardwood boards laid, sanded and finished on site, on joists or over concrete.
Engineered timber floors
A real timber top layer on a stable core. Quicker to lay and arrives pre-finished.
Hybrid & laminate
Waterproof, scratch resistant planks for kitchens, rentals and busy households.
Repairs & restoration
Replacing damaged boards, fixing squeaks, and patching in after walls are moved.
Staircases
Sanding and coating timber stairs, or cladding old stairs with new treads and nosings.
Parquetry
Restoring herringbone and block parquetry, including loose block re-gluing.
Decks
Outdoor timber decks cleaned, sanded and re-oiled to protect against Sydney sun.
Know your timber before you choose.
Every Australian hardwood sands and finishes differently. Pick a species to see its colour range and how hard it is underfoot.
Blackbutt
Pale golden with a straight, even grain. The most asked-for floor in Sydney homes and easy to live with.

The people quoting are the people sanding.
Sydney Boys is a local, family-run crew. You deal with us from the first look at your floor to the final coat, with no call centre and no subcontractors you've never met. We protect your walls and skirtings, clean up as we go, and leave you with a floor we'd be happy to have in our own homes.

Common questions
Are my old floors worth sanding?
Most solid timber floors can be sanded several times over their life. If the boards are firm and not too thin, sanding and coating costs far less than replacing them. We'll tell you honestly on site.
I've just lifted the carpet. Is it too late to save the boards?
Usually not. Staple holes, paint spots and old underlay stains mostly sand out, and gaps can be filled. Send us a photo on WhatsApp and we'll give you a quick opinion.
Water-based or oil-based finish?
Water-based finishes stay closer to the natural timber colour, have less smell and dry faster. Oil-based finishes give a warmer, ambered look and are very tough. We'll show you both on your own boards.
How long until we can move back in?
With a water-based finish you can usually walk on the floor in socks the next day and bring furniture back after a few days. We'll give you exact times for your finish.
Do you work on rentals and pre-sale jobs?
Yes. We do a lot of between-tenant and pre-sale floor refreshes and can work with your agent to fit the timeline.
Ready to see what's under the old finish?
Call, or send a few photos on WhatsApp. We'll get back to you with a rough idea and a time to come out and measure.
